Bridgeport, Connecticut, is mourning the tragic loss of 41-year-old Willesha Riddick, who was fatally stabbed early Tuesday morning at a rooming house on Park Avenue. Her sudden and violent death has left family, friends, and the wider community devastated.
According to the Bridgeport Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 350 block of Park Avenue at approximately 12:05 a.m. after reports of an altercation involving multiple individuals inside the residence. When authorities arrived, Riddick was found bleeding and unresponsive at the front door. Emergency medical personnel transported her to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased despite life-saving efforts. Officials confirmed she had suffered multiple stab wounds.
A second woman was injured during the incident with a minor stab wound and was treated at Bridgeport Hospital before being released. Police have not released further details regarding her involvement.
Bridgeport homicide detectives, along with the Major Crimes Unit, remained at the scene throughout the night conducting interviews and collecting evidence as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities stated that the stabbings appear to be isolated incidents and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
